| Our Focus

At Learn 2 Fly our flight training ethos is focused on producing high quality commercial and private pilots to guiding the future of the Australian aviation industry. We are focused on training well equipped, safe and smart pilots rather than simply training cadets to obtain a licence. To achieve this, we are transforming the aviation learning environment and innovating our courses to make considerable infrastructure and asset investments to supply appropriate aircraft and simulators for training. At Learn 2 Fly we make learning effective and efficient through the use of state of the art technology, quality learning resources and a highly experienced team that draws on military, commercial and recreational aviation experience.

About Ben

Ben started Learn 2 Fly in November 2018  to fulfil his passion of getting pilots started on their journey. His vision was for a training organisation that produces job ready pilots who have learned the actual skills they need, to be employable in the industry upon completion. As an experienced operator he seeks to use innovation and aircraft types that are used in typical first jobs. Quality, Safety and Service are at the core of this vision. He did not attempt to be the cheapest school, rather the school that you choose that is organised, high quality and has good aircraft that are well equipped and maintained.

Ben is an ex-army helicopter pilot with over 4000 hours. When he can get away from Learn 2 Fly he also does fire-fighting and industrial operations. His partner company 18fifty3 is a proudly Indigenous owned and run project management organisation.

About Andrew

Andrew’s military background gives him the ability to have a long story about everything aviation and beyond – while wearing sunglasses. Andrew flies everything from Bristells to Blackhawks and can’t wait to bring you into the Aviation community.

Andrew went solo in an Aeroplane before he had a drivers licence. He served 20 years in the Army flying Blackhawks and Kiowa Warriors in Pakistan, East Timor, Afghanistan, PNG and throughout Australia. He is a CFI for RAAus as well as having CASA instructor ratings for Airplanes and Helicopters including at night, Night Vision Goggles and instruments. He has an extensive aviation experience in helicopters and planes that covers SAR, Medevac, charter, fire, instructing, aerobatics and formation. He has been the Chief Pilot of a charter operator so he knows what skills you need for your first job. He enjoys teaching private VFR pilots who share his passion for the sky as well as commercial and instrument pilots who seek instructors with operational experience to share.

Andrew and Ben started Learn2fly with a shared vision and deep industry experience. Their commitment to safety and quality will give you a better training outcome and the packages they designed are intended to make clear the real cost of your training.
